I have always said that if you want to get healthy, you have to take care of your body and mind. If you don’t take care of your mind, you’ll never be healthy. You’ll also never achieve results. This is why I try to get at least five hours of sleep every night.
When I say take care of my mind, I mean do some deep breathing, do some leg presses, do some yoga, do some yoga-yoga. Just take care of your body when you’re asleep and when you’re awake. This requires you to do a lot of things that you normally wouldn’t do. You do things like walk or run, or do some sports, or a lot of things you would normally do.
I know this is a lot of boring information, but I want you to understand that you don’t have to do any of this stuff. The point of this exercise is to wake up and think about the stuff that youre doing.
The idea here is to do a lot of things that you normally wouldnt do. This is what you would normally do. And the way to do this is to just try to think about the things that you normally wouldnt do. You’ll be surprised how easy it is.
Well, the point of this exercise is that there is a point to it. Youre actually doing something productive, something you normally wouldnt do. Youre actually sleeping.
That might sound like a contradiction to what I just said, but you can actually nap after a workout. I know it may sound weird, but it actually happens quite often. If you do a ton of cardio and you wake up on a couch, then you can nap at the same time. Or just go outside and read a book. You can nap at the park, too. In college, I was a night owl, and I never thought I would be able to nap.
There’s no reason to think you dont already. I’m just saying, if you’re a night owl, you might want to start doing more cardio. This is especially true for those of us born before the early 1960s.
My advice is to avoid being a night owl. For one, youll be sleeping in your own bed for the first time. For another, youll probably wake up and pee a lot more often, leading to a lot more bathroom trips and the need for a new shower. And also, it might be hard to get all the sleep you need in the morning.
Again, this is just my opinion, but I think it’s important to get a good nights sleep to get as much energy as possible for a longer workout the next day.
I know that it’s not always possible to get a good nights sleep after a workout. But I can definitely attest to the fact that the first few hours after I exercise tend to be the hardest because my body and mind are still trying to recover from the workout. I also know that the last few hours of the day after workouts tend to be the most restful since my body and mind are still trying to get all the sleep they can out of the day.
