I love to work out with a trainer. For me, that means a group of people I’m comfortable with and that like to be around sometimes. I’ve never been a fitness kind of person (well, I am a little bit), so I like to work out alone. I don’t feel like I have to be surrounded by people in order to be healthy.
Now I am not the only one who feels as I have just described. People are always interested in the latest workout videos. So, there are some who go through the trouble of building a social network to share their workouts with friends and family. There are also a few who build their own personal training network where they share workouts with others at the gym. As well, there are new workout partners to be found through blogs and social networks who share workout videos with their friends and family.
The fitness world is big and growing as we all realize that we are all looking for exercise partners of our own. It’s easy to see why. Once you are a regular exercise partner with a person who is in shape, or someone who is looking to be in shape, it can be much easier to connect on a personal level. The people who are most likely to be successful in this area are the ones who have a good network of friends and family who know and trust each other.
In the last couple of years, it seems like a lot of fitness companies have started to offer private workout groups. This may be a good way to find a partner or just socialize, but I don’t know. I’ve seen a lot of personal videos on YouTube, but I don’t think I have ever seen a workout video with a fitness partner.
Fitness is a two way street. The more people who know and like each other, the more likely they are to stick with it long term. But the internet hasn’t made it easy to find other fitness friends. I know that when I was in high school I was in a couple of fitness classes with a couple of my friends. But we kept it to ourselves because we didn’t know any better. I think that’s what makes fitness so fun.
I know this is a bit of a stretch, but I think this kind of seems to happen with the younger generations, especially teens. I think the internet has made fitness a lot easier to find. But not everyone is willing to admit it. As many of the fitness enthusiasts on YouTube see it, they still have to go out and find other people who are interested in their method. They still have to talk to their friends, ask their friends.
Maybe it’s just because I’m such an introvert, but I don’t need other people to tell me I can do anything. I can do everything without them telling me.
Maybe I just don’t understand this way of thinking though. I like people to tell me what I can do because I like it that way. If someone tells me I can do something without them telling me, then I can do it. I’m not a slave to others.
But some people think that exercise is a good thing, I mean its good to be healthy, but I think exercise is a good thing for all of us. Exercise doesn’t have to be a chore. It can be a way of life.
In the past I have used exercise to get rid of the anxiety I felt after completing a big workout. Doing a long run is usually enough for that, but I guess you can do a lot more than just long runs. We recently started a “workout partner” meme, where people send each other links to workout videos they’ve already completed. We like to take a bit of the competition out of it by having people send us videos that challenge us in an interesting way.
