This Editorial Policy sets out how 2 Forks Events produces, reviews, and publishes its content across all eight verticals. It is the standard readers can hold our work to, and it sits alongside our Ethics Policy, AI Content Policy, and Affiliate Disclosure.
Our mission
2 Forks Events exists to help people discover, understand, and plan events well. We serve concert-goers, couples, party hosts, corporate planners, and anyone curious about what’s on, with reliable, well-sourced content about music events, weddings, parties, corporate events, catering, local discovery, seasonal events, and industry news. Everything in this policy flows from a single conviction: event content is only worth publishing if it is accurate, honestly framed, and accountable.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made independently of any commercial relationship. Advertisers, sponsors, affiliate partners, ticket platforms, venues, artists, and vendors do not preview, approve, or influence our coverage, and no commercial consideration buys favourable treatment or the suppression of a story. We cover events and recommend on the merits. Sponsored content is clearly labelled and kept separate from editorial, as described in our Sponsored Content Policy, and affiliate links are disclosed and never allowed to shape what we say.
Accurate event data
Accurate event data is the foundation of an event publication, and we treat it that way. Event details — dates, times, venues, line-ups, and prices — are verified against authoritative sources such as official tour and festival pages, venue confirmations, and organiser announcements before publication. We present them in an Event Details box and, where confirmed, as structured data that search engines and AI assistants can surface accurately. Because inaccurate event data misleads people who are buying tickets and making travel plans, we cut what we cannot verify, and we update coverage promptly when details change or events are cancelled.
Named bylines and authorship
Every article carries a named human byline. We do not publish under “admin” or template author names, and we do not present AI-generated text as journalism. Where an article is produced by the editorial desk rather than a single named writer, it appears under the 2 Forks Events Editorial byline, and a person on the desk remains accountable for it. We do not attach invented names or credentials to our work.
Sourcing
Factual claims are traceable to a credible source, and articles cite their sources where the subject warrants. For event details we prefer official and primary sources; for planning and buying guidance we rely on established practice and clearly-reasoned editorial judgment. We distinguish reporting from opinion and are transparent about what we can and cannot confirm.
Affiliate and commercial transparency
Some of our content contains affiliate links, and some events and products we cover are ones we may earn a commission from. We follow FTC guidance: any article with affiliate links carries a clear disclosure above the body, our recommendations are made on the merits regardless of commission, and we keep sponsored content clearly labelled and separate from editorial. The review workflow
No article publishes without passing through a defined process: concept, research, draft, editor review, fact-check (event dates, venues, prices), and publication. Event coverage is not published without verified details and an Event Details box; articles with affiliate links are not published without an FTC disclosure above the body. Each piece carries publication and, where relevant, last-updated dates.
Fairness and corrections
We report fairly and represent events, artists, venues, and vendors accurately. Time-sensitive coverage shows a last-updated date and is revisited when events change. Errors are corrected promptly and transparently and logged publicly at /corrections/; when we change the substance of a piece to fix an error, we note what changed rather than editing silently. Where comments are enabled they are moderated, and readers can raise concerns at editorial@2forksevents.com.
Accountability
Every article has someone responsible for it, and this policy is a public commitment readers can hold us to. If you believe we have fallen short of the standards described here, please tell us. Reader feedback is one of the main ways this publication improves.
Headlines and framing
A headline should tell the reader accurately what the article delivers, not overstate it for clicks. We write headlines and standfirsts that reflect the substance of the piece, and we avoid clickbait, false urgency, and framing that would mislead a reader who reads only the headline. In event coverage this matters especially: a guide to one city’s events should not be headlined as if it covered everywhere, and a piece about one tour should not imply dates it does not confirm.
Handling reader submissions and features
We welcome real wedding and event features and reader tips. Submissions are assessed editorially — we cannot feature everything — and we confirm that anyone submitting a wedding or event has the necessary permissions, including from photographers and the people pictured. Featured content follows the same standards as the rest of our work: accurate, fairly presented, and clearly credited.
Updating time-sensitive coverage
Event coverage has a shelf life. We date our coverage, we revisit pieces when tours, festivals, or events change, and where a piece is about a specific dated event we make clear that readers should confirm current details on the official source. When an event is cancelled or postponed, we update the coverage rather than leaving a misleading page live. Keeping the record current is part of the job, not an afterthought.
Buying guides and recommendations
Some of our content recommends products — party supplies, wedding gear, event tech. When we do, the recommendation is editorial: we describe who a product suits and where it falls short, we present clear pros and cons, and we never let an affiliate commission decide the ranking. A “best for value” pick is there because it genuinely offers value, not because it pays the most. Where a category has no clear winner, we say so rather than manufacturing a false verdict. This is the same standard we apply to event coverage: honest, useful, and independent of who might pay us.
Working with contributors
Contributions from outside writers are held to the same standards as our own work: a named byline, verified details, cited sources, disclosure of any relevant interest, and editing before publication.
