DMCA & Copyright

Last updated: 25 July 2026

2 Forks Events respects the intellectual-property rights of others and expects our readers and contributors to do the same. This page explains how to notify us of allegedly infringing content, how we respond, how to submit a counter-notification, and how the principles of fair use apply to event journalism and photography. It should be read together with our Terms of Service.

Our commitment

We are committed to publishing original journalism, planning guides, and event coverage, and to properly attributing and licensing the imagery we use. Event and wedding photography, in particular, is used only with permission or appropriate credit. If you believe that content on 2 Forks Events infringes your copyright or other intellectual-property rights, we want to hear from you and we will act on valid notices promptly.

How to report allegedly infringing content

To report content you believe infringes your rights, send a written notice to editorial@2forksevents.com with the subject line “Copyright / IP Notice”. To help us act quickly and fairly, please include:

Please note that submitting a notice that knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing may expose you to liability.

How we respond

When we receive a notice that appears valid and complete, we will review it promptly. Where appropriate, we may remove or disable access to the material while we investigate, and we will aim to keep you informed of the outcome. Because we are an event publication, some material — such as brief factual details of public events, or short attributed quotations — may be used lawfully for reporting and is not infringing; we will assess each notice on its facts.

Notice to the person who posted the material

Where the material was submitted by a contributor or commenter, we may notify that person that we have received a notice and have removed or disabled the material, and give them an opportunity to respond with a counter-notification. We may share your notice, including your identity, with that person so they can understand the basis of the complaint.

Counter-notification

If you are a contributor or user whose material has been removed or disabled and you believe this was a mistake or misidentification — for example because you hold the rights, have a licence, or the use is permitted by law — you may send a counter-notification to editorial@2forksevents.com. Please include identification of the material and its location before removal; a statement, under penalty of perjury or equivalent, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification; your contact details; and your signature. We will review counter-notifications on their merits.

Photography and image rights

We are especially careful with photography. Wedding and event features use images with the permission of the photographer and, where relevant, the people pictured. If you are a photographer or subject and believe an image has been used without authorisation, contact us at editorial@2forksevents.com and we will act promptly — removing or properly crediting and licensing the image as appropriate.

Repeat infringers and other rights

We may decline to publish future contributions from, or restrict access for, anyone who repeatedly submits infringing material. If your concern relates to a trademark, right of publicity, or another intellectual-property right rather than copyright, you may use the same contact address and provide the equivalent information, and we will review it in the same spirit. All notices under this policy should be sent to editorial@2forksevents.com.

Our timeframes

We aim to acknowledge valid notices promptly and to review them as quickly as our resources allow. The time needed depends on the complexity of the complaint — a clear case of copied text or an unlicensed photograph can be assessed quickly, while a question about the scope of fair use for quoted or factual material may require closer consideration. We keep you informed of material developments and of the outcome, and where we decide not to remove material we explain our reasoning.

Good-faith use of our own content

Just as we respect others’ rights, we ask that others respect ours. Our journalism, guides, and event coverage take real effort to produce. You are welcome to quote short, attributed excerpts with a link, but please do not republish whole articles or substantial parts without permission, and please do not present our content as your own. If you would like to syndicate or licence our content, or you are unsure whether a proposed use is permitted, contact editorial@2forksevents.com and we will try to help.

Records

We may keep records of notices, counter-notifications, and the action we took, so we can operate this process consistently and respond to any repeat issues. Those records are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Fair use and event reporting

Event journalism necessarily refers to public events, quotes public announcements, and reports factual details such as dates and venues. Short, attributed quotation and the reporting of facts for the purposes of news, comment, and information are generally permitted and are not infringement. Our practice is to quote only as much as is necessary and to attribute clearly. Reporting that a concert is happening, or citing an official announcement, is a core function of an event publication and is treated as fair use, not a copyright violation. Where a genuine question of infringement arises — a copied article, an unlicensed photograph — we act on it as described above.
